Mountain weather can change rapidly and often so it is important to bring or wear layers that you can add or remove throughout the day. You’ll want to plan on being in and out of the vehicle throughout your trip. This allows us to take full advantage of the wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.
- First and most importantly, we are at high altitude in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem so that means the sun’s rays are more intense here year round so it is important to protect your skin. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
- Your guide will provide you with binoculars and spotting scopes to use throughout the day.
- Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided for all full day tours.
- We supply reusable water bottles and filtered water in the vehicles, if you have a favorite water bottle please bring it along to refill throughout the day.
- Hand sanitizer and bug spray are available in each vehicle.
- For clothing we recommend layering a lightweight wicking base layer, a warmer fleece or zip up jacket and a waterproof outer shell.
- Footwear should fit comfortably and be suited for the season.
- For warmer months, walking shoes or hiking boots work well. For cooler months, snow boots and wool socks will keep your feet warm.
- Bring along a sun hat, ball cap or visor during the summer months and a wool or fleece hat, and mittens or gloves for colder weather.
- Please do not wear flip-flops as the terrain can be variable.
-
Of course! We want our guests to be well fueled while they are touring the parks. We will work with our caterer to try to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Please make sure to bring them to our attention at the time of booking so we can pass the information along to our caterer in advance. We also ask that you notify us of any allergies at the time of booking and bring along any medications needed during the trip.

This trip is not strenuous compared with other outdoor activities and most walks are optional. This will allow you to adjust your activity level to what is comfortable for you. There are a few things to take into consideration as you plan your trip to Jackson Hole. Jackson, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park all lie at high elevation. This can cause some people to experience altitude sickness. It is very important to stay hydrated while at high elevation. Please discuss any concerns with your guide at the beginning of the tour so that they can tailor the trip to your abilities.
-
We pick up from all hotels, condos, and home rentals in Teton Village and The town of Jackson. If you have a question about where your rental lies and if we pick up there don’t hesitate to give us a call or send over an email.

Grand Teton National Park does not permit guided hiking. Our permitting allows for us to venture half a mile from the vehicle so all trips from the vehicle will be no longer than one mile round trip. In Yellowstone National Park, the features are located a bit further
from the road and there are often trails or boardwalks that we will take to reach each feature. There will be more walking incorporated into the trip. All private trips can be tailored to the abilities and interests of the group. If you would like to do more walking while in Yellowstone let your guide know and they can customize the day to your families interests or ask about our guided hiking trips is Yellowstone.
-
In both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, there are full service restrooms as well as vault toilets. Our guides like to source out the nicer options but the facilities may be several miles apart, so please take advantage of any stop that offers a restroom should you need it. If you do need to make an additional stop let your guide know as soon as possible so that they can accommodate your request.

We have a saying in Jackson Hole…If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes. It is not uncommon to experience all four seasons in one day around here and yes we have seen snow in July. Because of this we operate our tours rain or shine, typically if the day starts our with rain it will be beautiful before lunchtime. We will only cancel a trip if hazardous road conditions exist. Occasionally, the park service closes roads due to hazardous conditions and we will let you know as far in advance as possible when this happens.
-
It is illegal to fly a drone over Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and parts of Jackson Hole so it is best to leave you drone behind.
